Hello, old friend! It’s been awhile, hasn’t it? To be honest, I’m not quite sure what exactly went down. I just remember having this constant urge of wanting to check my likes or reads. This urge really took me out of the present moment and I didn’t like that. C.S. Lewis writes in The Screwtape Letter that “the Present moment is the point at which time touches eternity,” and as sons and daughters of God, we are destined for eternity.
So I unplugged. No facebook, no insta, no blog, striving to live in the present moment. Still not the best at living in the present moment, but I did say striving :) But being off the grid has 100% forced me to have very intentional relationships (new blog post, same me). It’s definitely a lot easier to just go on social media and see everyone’s best life, but can I just say it’s sooo much better when they tell you in person? Chloe and I have frequent coffee dates (90% of the time at Dunkin’) over our lunch breaks where we get to share anything and everything with each other. I remember the time she shared with me that she was pregnant and I freaked out in the middle of Dunkin’! And now baby Maeve joins us for our coffee dates. When Sally got engaged (yay!), I didn’t find out by seeing a pic on insta, I heard directly from Sal the whole story and relived it in her blog post about it! Being able to experience these big life changes with friends has been such a gift.
You’re probs wondering, why are you back blogging? Well I’ve been thinking a lot about joy and what brings me joy and one was expressing myself through my blog and building relationships with this community, so I guess that means I’m back :) Here’s my comeback outfit! A white eyelet dress from the Loft, with a light tan cardigan from J.Crew Factory (truly, same me), and brown sandals.
A lot of life changes have happened since we last talked (obvi, it’s been like over two years) and I can’t wait to share them with you! Comment below with some things that you’ve been up to or what brings you joy or the time you’ve unplugged! Can’t wait to hear from you!
