F is for friends who do stuff together
Happy fall, y’all! Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile- projects deadlines, travels, and everyday life has gotten the best of me these past couple of weeks and I haven’t had a chance to write! But I’m back! I’ve been very thankful for my Type A personality in times like these. You see, I’m a planner. I like to make sure my schedule is full (I’m usually running from one thing to the next). I like to make lists for everything. And I like to cross things off my list. My Type A personality helps me be productive, but sometimes it’s just a lot to handle.
This is Sally. She’s one of my roomies and she (usually- obviously not these) takes all of my blog pics. We met in Bible Study about six months ago and now I don’t know how I would do life without her. Sal has a Type B personality. She adds a little spontaneity in my life. Her childlike love for Jesus reminds me that as much as I like to think, I’m not in control- I just need to chill and let God do His thing. She helps realize that my life doesn’t need to be a constant series of go, go, go, but to enjoy the present moment. She challenges me in my faith and keeps me accountable. What a blessing she has been.
The Devil really likes to attack me in my busyness, telling me that I have don’t have time to have a relationship with Jesus, telling me to worry about everything. Little. Thing. But thank goodness God works through friends like Sally to show me that this is all a lie. So this weekend, I decided to put what Sal has been teaching into practice and cross off one of our roomie fall activities list (yes, I made a list of all the fall things and yes, crossing something off the list felt soooo good). We went to Adoration and Daily Mass in the morning (best way to start the day), and then we were off to the apple orchard!
It’s funny because Sally and I have the same plaid shirt (fall means plaid for days). We actually own a lot of the same clothes, but the way we style them reflects our different personalities and shows our authentic selves. We compliment each other even through our clothes! Both of our outfits consist of a plaid shirt from j.crew factory. I paired mine with a caramel j.crew factory skirt and Cole Haan brown, riding boots. Sal wore her’s with pixie pants from j.crew and brown, riding boots (isn't she just the cutest?). Get similar looks for both outfits below.
I can’t wait to share more of our roomie adventures and outfits with you! I hope that our authenticity through our style will give you more perspective and help you find your’s! I would love to see how you wear your plaid; post a picture in the comments section :) Thank you for reading! And a special thank you to Sally for letting the Holy Spirit use her to love on me and everyone around her! Love ya, lil’ smush!
